LOVE ADVICE EVERYONE SHOULD HEAR

Let's talk about your relationship with love.

I'm going to cut straight to the chase–it starts with you. What are you telling yourself on a regular basis? Affirmations are huge, and setting goals is the key to succeeding in life. But what about that romantic relationship others have but you don’t? We all set new goals for the year, and some of you set a goal to be in a relationship this year. You visualize having the guy that is the new "bachelor" as your husband or that cute guy that works out the same time as you at the gym. Why doesn’t it happen even when you focus on what it is you really want (aka a boyfriend)? You even made a vision board including your future husband on it when you were fifteen. Ten plus years later, Ryan Gosling and Leonardo DiCaprio are still not your husbands. WTF universe!!!

Is there an explanation to why it isn’t happening? As a matter of fact, there is. As mentioned in the movie Bruce Almighty (thank you Morgan Freeman), you can’t mess with freewill. You can’t have freewill like you want a car. Sadly, against all hopes, relationships fall into the category of freewill. The Merriam-Webster defines freewill as the ability to make choices that are not controlled by fate or God. You cannot make another person fall in love with you. That is up to fate or God.

What I like to do is figure out what we can do in situations like this. What should you focus on?

Let’s focus on what we can control; to be more specific, you and your environment. Let’s dig into that.

The best thing you can do for yourself is to work on the relationship with yourself. Hit you right into between your eyes didn't I?

Self-improvement consists of books your reading, exercising, what you’re putting into your body, and what you’re letting your mind hear. To get more in depth with the subconscious part, this is what you listen to but more importantly, the kind of people you surround yourself with.

As I have mentioned in other posts, you are the average sum of the five people you spend the most time with. So newsflash, if you don’t like the person you have become…you know what to do. Also, meditation helps you focus on being one with your Self and body.

So, there you have it. Let’s focus on what we can control which is the relationship you have with yourself, not Ryan Gosling or the guy at the gym. We have heard it before; you can’t love others until you love yourself. If you haven’t noticed, you usually hear things repeatedly if you have not taken the advice properly. Take a step back, and let this information digest. Take what you want from this. It is for you to interpret in your own way. I tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear.

Take Justin Bieber’s advice and love yourself.

Love and journey on.
