Disney During a Pandemic

I went to Disney at the beginning of August 2020, two weeks after the WDW parks reopened since closing in March. Prior to going, I watched every instagram video posted and published about the parks to see what the crowds were going to be like and what to expect. I was shocked by the attendance when I got there. It felt like I had the parks to myself. Granted, this was two weeks after opening, and now that Florida is back to normal operations, Disney is increasing the capacity.

Crowds: little to none (see photos below, videos on IG @thetravelingteeevents)

Rides: walked onto every ride including Pandora TWICE besides Seven Dwarfs (waited 30 minutes), I also had my rides to myself like Dinosaur, Na'vi River Journey, and Space Mountain. Check out the slideshow below for pics:

Food: super simple, I didn't even use the app, I walked right into my favorite spot to eat in Pandora (Satu'li Canteen), ordered, and had my food within 5 minutes

Magic: it felt odd to be at the parks without crowds especially Magic Kingdom. I'm looking forward to having the fireworks back as well as the parades

Was it worth going?

100% in my opinion. It ultimately depends on the person and your opinion/views of the pandemic.

I look forward to the days where we can roam Main Street USA without masks and give Mickey a hug....and yes, those days will be back again.
